Pet First Aid and CPR Training
Pets are Family too! Have you ever thought about what you would do if your favorite pet quit breathing? Perform Mouth to Snout Resusitation of course! Coastal Pet Rescue donated dog and cat mannequins back in 2005 to the Savannah Chapter so they can offer this unique pet caregiving course. In just 4 hours you will learn basic first aid and how to perform CPR on your pet. You will even learn you how to make breathing barriers from common household items! You’ll receive a first rate text book with lots of Pet First Aid solutions and a list of items you can purchase to make a Pet First Aid kit. Even if you don’t take this course, you should ask anyone who is caring for your pet if they have.
Want a sample of what you’ll learn? Our president Lisa Scarbrough appeared November 15 on WJCL’s Good Morning and WTGS’s AM Alive with Stephanie Simoni to promote the class. As an instructor, Lisa gave tips and demonstrations of the 4-hour course’s subject material. We’ve included the video files for you to learn a little bit as well.
The next course is scheduled for Saturday, February 16 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Savannah Red Cross on Drayton. Visit www.savannahredcross.org for registration information. The course is taught by Coastal Pet Rescue founder and president Lisa Scarbrough.
Thank you to Dan Kurtz at Night Raven for providing us with the digital files.

Thanks to our friends at WJCL and WTGS for the wonderful ad campaign they launched for our annual Home 4 the Holidays. It’s wonderful to be working with our good friend Casey Jones again as well. We’ve uploaded the video so you can see our cute babies and hopefully feel propelled to get involved this holiday season.
Just What Is a Microchip?
This morning, Lisa Scarbrough appeared as a guest on WTOC’s Mid Morning Live with Sonny Dixon to promote the microchip clinic this Saturday. Producer Casey Jones was kind enough to provide us with the video so you may see just exactly what a microchip is and how it can reunite you with your lost pet.
